That's the thing - that's the common impression of it but in fact it's pumped full of chemicals additives etc. they smell like some sort of biological weapons plant when you walked past them Ffs.
Health wise they are far more sinister than a sarnie using quality fresh ingredients you'd knock up at home

There are certain thing I had here that are better than anywhere in the world.
So Subway where I come from makes their bread fresh and uses meat (luncheon and otherwise) from in country, because it quite cheap generally.
It is like make yourself a sandwich at home essentially. Boring but not awful.
But if you want to make this continent thing of this, like you seem to apt to , pork pies and chips are amazing for you, right?
You can choose to eat decent most anywhere, some people do, some people don't.

To the point of the original thread.
Judging from some of the comments, Subway must be different here. Dreadfully boring food but not awful for the most part. But as I said too expensive for what you get, so I have never tried.
The only gross thing I remember were from the ones that tried to do breakfast in the States. Microwaved eggish liquid - Yum.
